February saw the early access version of Utah released. I spoke to some leading figures in the industry who shared why they are excited. Their insights below will help you make the most of the March release.
Damien Davis - Senior Director, Product Management, ServiceNow
"We are bringing one of ITSM's most used capabilities, change management, into the Service Operations workspace experience. This not only modernizes, but also accelerates change management with an elevated, data-driven experience”.
Shane Finch - Platform and Programme Delivery Lead, WhyAye
I cannot wait to start demoing and delivering new capabilities from Utah, one highlight is having the ability to apply IRE processes for non-cmdb tables, this is going to make data much more standard for user or location feeds.
Daniel Gibbard (CMA) - Solutions Architect, Computacenter
I'm excited to see how StreamConnect works. As a workflow/orchestration tool, ServiceNow often requires input of massive data streams from external sources. While most customers will have no issues with traditional ways of streaming data (REST APIs etc), with larger data sets there are physical restriction on how much data an instance can ingest. StreamConnect allows data input and output via Kafka, allowing massive data streams in and out of the instance with improved efficiency and fewer network bottlenecks.
Alex Coope - Director of Globalization Deployment, ServiceNow
I’m looking forward to Dynamic Translation in Workspaces to allow easy frictionless communication between end-users and fulfillers regardless of spoken language.
Mark Edwards MBCS – Senior Solutions Architect, Engage ESM
I’m excited about the Process Mining improvements and seeing the release of some of the new ERP modernization capabilities we've been working on with ServiceNow.
Justin Loftas - Technical Director, UP3
There are some nice dev features but having spent an awful lot of time recently in UI Builder I’m liking the newer cleaner UI which has a lot more of the configuration available than jumping in and out. Makes working on the larger experiences a lot easier.
Philip Swann - Managing Consultant (ServiceNow Dev MVP), Wrangu
There are three things that, if you asked me, organisations have been struggling with when implementing GRC/IRM on ServiceNow.
Firstly, how to manage risk according to their organisation's Risk Appetite.
Secondly, when we look at Controls and Compliance Frameworks, the volume of controls that ServiceNow generates can often create (unnecessary) overhead.
Finally, when something does fail or a finding is identified.
These are now all available on GRC v16 Utah Release. I've already got my hands on it, and I'm getting my head around it as we speak... (expanded version in the comments)
